Bouquets of Color

Bouquets of Color

Quilt:  61" x 61"

The bouquets in the center of each block are the traditional Bouquet pattern but the setting and the border blocks are not.  The bright and lively batik colors make this quilt very colorful but the navy background keeps it restful.  The curved sashings were cut individually with a rotary cutter and are pieced with a 1/8" seam allowance.  The border blocks are nine-patches with a Carolina lily on each corner.  The binding is scrappy to highlight the variety of colors used.

This quilt was a blue ribbon winner at the Iowa State Fair in 2002.
